A personal favorite

Pane e Vino in Miami Beach is my favorite Italian restaurant. Food is one of the ways my curiosity leaves the screen: ingredients, technique, place, and the experience around a meal all become part of the story.

A little history

A 2022 Miami Herald profile dates the restaurant’s opening to 2011 and identifies Angelo Quaglini as its owner. Source: Miami Herald.

The craft at the center

The restaurant’s own account emphasizes handmade pasta, Italian cooking, and a welcoming, home-like atmosphere. It describes a mix of traditional dishes and newer interpretations, with rustic wood details in the space. That is how the restaurant presents its identity—not a claim that every visit or every diner has the same experience. Source: Pane e Vino’s story.

Why it belongs in this journal

I like the connection between craft and the finished experience. With a technology product, I’m curious about the choices behind the interface. With food, the questions change but the instinct is familiar: how was this made, what gives it character, and why does it stay with you? A favorite restaurant does not need to become a spreadsheet. Sometimes the most useful thing to say is simply that you love it.

Some interests are best explored around a table.
